Ok guys, I’m back on the job. I’m feelin better, more up to it, and hopefully we can get this project moving again.

I’ve corrected a few bugs, including the beta report one, so hopefully now I’ll get some feedback on what we need next.

Lack of updates

Sorry for my absence everyone. While I hope things are progressing, I haven’t heard any feedback, so I don’t really know. There was a death in the family recently, and while I haven’t been as emotionally affected, its really sapped my will to do much at the moment. Hopefully I’ll be back at it soon, and you can expect some upgrades with it.

We’re getting bigger!

I’d like to say its that our player-base is getting bigger (it went up 15% in a few days, but given our numbers, its not a giant leap :p). Rather, I’m modifying the layout to make it a little wider. It’ll take a few days to adapt everything to match the new, wider layout, but I think things will lay out a little nicer, not as much of a “crunch” to fit in info. If you find a page that looks weird with the new layout, let me know.

Wordpress!

The site’s home page is now powered by a Wordpress blog. Its interaction with the rest of the site may still be a bit buggy, so please let me know if you run into issues. I’ve also converted all the announcements to the blog. Yet another way for me to tell you guys what’s going on and giving you guys a way to respond to me. I can see we’ve got about 15 users now, and a few games running, so… keep the feedback coming.

Stuff you can expect soon: forums and a suggestions system. We’re also reaching a point where all the basic ideas I had are being exhausted, so I’d love to hear from you guys about what this site needs.

Another Day, Another Upgrade

So today I got a few small bugs fixed/updated. I’ve also started a Facebook group for this site, but unfortunately, I’m not much of a marketer (I’m working on it), so if you guys have friends who might be interested in this site, invite them over! We’re getting more users every day, and I know Mafia is a pretty popular game, so I can’t imagine this site will immediately fail :p

The Communication Begins!

So guys, the private message system is in. Its easily accessible on the left side, and while I haven’t yet figured out a safe way to let people search for other users, once you do have someone’s username (through a game) you can contact them.

While the system does watch for and keep track of bugs, I’d still encourage people to contact me when you find something not working. The best way to contact me is to hit the “Beta Report” link on your Main Menu, or now you can PM me on the user ‘Keleth’.

Sorry guys, one big neglect I made was a way to directly chat with you guys. I’m working on a Wordpress blog to tell you guys whats going on so and so you can reply, and I’ll have the forum running in a day or two. I neglected to think about how important it would be initially. You can also expect the PM system very soon.

Alpha Opens

I’d like to thank everyone for joining the Mafia v2 Alpha. As a long time Mafia player, this site has been a goal of mine for over 6 months. Unfortunately, I’m also have no formal training at building websites, so its been a learning experience (hence 6 months). This also means this may be the buggiest alpha you’ll have ever seen. If you run into any problems, be they actual problems with the game, or visual things you just don’t like, please contact me, and we’ll work it out. I’ll do my best to keep the site bug free, and I’ll post here when I have issues fixing bugs, as I’m sure some of you are a lot smarter at this then me.

Anyway, enjoy the games!
